Blind Date

She wasn't expecting a message to be waiting for her when she got home. Judith had told her she had a call asking if she would like to go out to lunch the next day with a friend's friend. It sounded like a date and she and Judith giggled over a late meal while wondering what the morning would bring. She almost said no, but Judith prodded at her. Gloria hadn't been on a date since they stopped dating almost a year ago.

This was definitely a set up and when the morning came she and Judith spent the morning like teenage girls in the small university sponsored apartment they shared. Eventually, Judith convinced Gloria to wear one of Judith's flashier dresses. It was a date after all where she was going to be picked up in a limo. That was exciting.

They sat together later in the day, sipping coffee while they waited for the mystery date to arrive. Like all young women, speculating who the flamboyant person she had met a few weeks earlier might be sending to her.

Weird had nearly backed out at the last minute because of Gilly being a complete idiot as usual. Telling him the girl wasn't interested in the silent type like him. What did the drummer know anyway? The bassist decided that he needed to man up and do this, without Gilly being there next to him. It would give him some room to breathe as Gilly had his own date with the waitress from Denny's. Good luck to him.

The limo was already on it's way to where the girl lived and Weird was wearing a rather smart glitter suit. It was glam but not overly so. Just something to meet his date in which wouldn't cause her to stare too much. Weird was used to donning platforms of heeled loafers on stage with the other lads, so a bit of sparkle was almost the norm with the Spiders now. Patting his hair down slightly and making sure his sideburns were straight, Weird looked out of the window which was halfway down. It was time to get out and meet this mystery woman Ziggy had set him up with.

Getting out of the limo, Weird walked up in his sparkly heeled loafers. Mick helped him pick them out due to the guitarists love for such shoes. Knocking on the door of the apartment three times he waited. Inside his jacket was a box of Milk Tray. Most women loved chocolates, didn't they?
